    Hussein Chalayan‘s preparing for his first major retrospective, launching in Paris next week. On July 5th, Les Arts Decoratifs, with help from Swarovski, will pay tribute to the designer with a look back at his almost twenty year career. The crystal company’s sponsored quite a few of Chalayan’s shows over the past five years and six of his Swarovski-studded dresses will be at the center of the exhibit. We caught up with the designer to find out how he’s feeling on the eve of such a big moment.

    A few designers took the word resort quite literally and threw some real life Hawaiian prints into their collections. There’s mixed media, indie surf enthusiasts, and minimal palm textiles that will make taking two weeks of leftover vacation time seem reasonable come holiday time. When indulging in a print so innately happy, how can you imagine yourself doing anything other than sipping daiquiris and soaking up Vitamin D? Only Stella McCartney could take the cringe-worthiness of the Hawaiian shirt and make it unexpectedly cool—as in, we’d actually wear it. Paired with contrasting board shorts, capelets, and lounge pants, her spring collection delivered some serious panache. At Suno, bonafide print experts Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty presented a dizzyingly bright palm-frond print. Although gauche by any other standard the duo’s designs were sophisticated thanks to their tailored silhouettes. French newcomer Pedro Lourenço took the opposite route with a minimal palm trees printed onto sleek shift dresses—well suited to the Palm Beach set’s penchant for tennis-like duds. Also rather sporty are Ricardo Tisci’s digitalized textiles at Givenchy—a mishmash of birds of paradise and hibiscus florals translated once more onto a shift. Even the Europeans have gone surfing USA!

    Denise Richards is a mom! With her ex, Charlie Sheen, Denise is the already the mom to two sweet girls, Lola and Sam, but now she has welcomed another little one to her family! In fact, Denise adopted her! The newest family member is named Eloise Joni Richards! The name "Joni" is after Denise's mom and the name Eloise was picked out by Sam and Lola! We love how the whole family was involved in choosing the name, it must make it really special for Sam and Lola to welcome their new little sister to the family!We're so happy for you Denise! Congratulations! (people)

    Among all the female celebrities we have a few true dark beauties! These women are sexy, sophisticated, and of course gorgeous! We often see celebs like Penelope Cruz, Eva Mendes and Angelina Jolie with flowing brown hair and golden-brown eye shadow, and we love that look! To get the dark beauty-look: chose a sparkling eye shadow in soft brown or gold and mix the colors together on your eyelid. To get that intense look we all love, apply an eyeliner and black mascara and you will become a true dark beauty!

    We've already seen this Dolce and Gabbana dress on both Diane Kruger and Alessandra Ambrosio. It was a pretty close tie between the two, but Alessandra won just barely! So we're giving Diane a second chance, but this time it's against Selena Gomez!

    Kate Moss is finally tying the knot tomorrow! She’ll marry Jamie Hince of The Kills in a three day festival lovingly dubbed Mosstock by her Cotswald neighbors. The ceremony is Friday, and though some guests like Naomi Cambpell and Phillip Green will jet straight to Monaco for Prince Albert’s wedding to Charlene Wittstock on Saturday, everyone else will stick around through the weekend. So what do we know so far? Even the food will be rockstar inspired. “She is going to be serving Keith Richards’ shepherd’s pie, Steve Tyler’s thai curry and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie’s sausage and mash,” says a “friend.” But there will be vegan food, too, and the cocktail recipes hail from her favorite hotel in Jamaica. {DailyTelegraph} If daquiries aren’t your thing, she’s brought in “truck fulls” of vodka, champagne and red bull, all of which will be served by the Ritz hotel staff she’s flying in to wait on her guests. {Styleite} Guests like Jade Jagger, Jude Law, Stella McCartney and even Banksy will be given “Oscar style gift bags” stuffed full of Mulberry, makeup and—we’re guessing here—booze. Also, should they need it, there’ll be an area set up to offer manicures, pedicures and massages. {DailyMail} If you’re still not sure what to get the royal couple, aside from the ashtrays, vintage champagne and cocktails sets, they’re in the market for a rabbit shaped jelly mold.  {HuffPo}

    When Victoria Beckham launched her first eponymous collection for spring 2009 there were no expectations. The former Spice Girl had dabbled in fashion—first with bedazzled jeans and then sunglasses—but aside from a self-mocking Marc Jacobs ad the year before she hadn’t yet been embraced by high fashion. After just one collection of sleek, Roland Mouret-like dresses, she was in. Since then, her dresses have popped up on celebrities like Eva Mendes and Blake Lively, she’s launched $14,000 handbags and established a real life luxury brand. Now, she’s aiming to please the girls who can’t splurge on dresses worth thousands with her new collection of dresses, Victoria by Victoria Beckham. The dresses, which are slated for spring 2012, will range from $550 to $900.  Despite their girlishness, Beckham was inspired by Emily the Strange, the cat-loving cartoon character, and expects a few prints to end up in the collection. She told WWD she’s created, “The perfect little summer dress, something that was fun, something that was girly, something that was easy to wear, something that would take you from day through the night.” What’s next for Beckham? After giving birth to her fourth child, and first girl, next month, she’ll set her sights on the next big project—a brick and mortar store in New York City.

    Entering the Billboard Top 200 chart at #6 with their first major label, Interscope, are the all-time cuties of pop punk band All Time Low with their fourth album Dirty Work. Well, can’t say we’re surprised. Alex Gaskarth (guitar and lead vocals), Jack Barakat (guitar and vocals), Zack Merrick (bass and vocals), and Rian Dawson (drums) have more than enough reason to celebrate but instead are giving us even more reason to scream and dance as they kick of their “Gimme Summer Ya Love” tour on July 28th. Since their basement days in high school we’ve been rooting for the boys, who’ve proven that the best way to succeed is by just being yourself. Hear what the ever-so-sincere Alex Gaskarth had to say about their successful album, the boys’ sound, and tips for catching his eye.
