Double-Edged Swords
Sometimes it strikes me how poverty and privilege have become such silent neighbors. It strikes me how in this world, you either have everything, or you have nothing.
Being rich and being poor may not look like it, but they are both double-edeged swords. When you are rich you have privilege, but does that mean that you are happy? Not always. Sometimes wealthy people tend to not be happy. Because, does money really buy you happiness? When you are granted privilege at birth, you tend not to appreciate what's around you as much. You tend not to realize how a small gesture could have a bigger and more meaningful message. I admire the people who instead of using their money for themselves, they use it to help others who need aid and have no one to turn to.
Despite the stereotypes, poor people even though they lack money, in my opinion are the richest ones. How so? Because when you lack something, you tend to appreaciate it more. Once someone experiences poverty of any kind, they develope fortitiude. A person with fortitude is someone who contains a mental or emotional strength when facing danger or temptation. And quality in my opinion, is lacking in many people these days and both sides should drop their differences and learn from each other just like two different people with different personalities do. So I think the poor truly are the richest but not in money, but in gratitude and appreciation: the biggest things in life.
Reminder that I am I just discussing a popular topic that has been argued by many experts and this is solely my opinion. Don't forget to comment down bellow your opinion on this topic so I know what you guys think! This is a no judgement zone so don't be afraid of speaking up. Constructive criticism is always alowed!
