Faberge Eggs
With Easter coming up quick, Stardoll has released their newest edition to the Epiphany collection: Epiphany Easter Eggs.
They happen to remind me of Faberge Eggs. Faberge is most well known for his Imperial Eggs, the eggs that were given to Czars Alexander III and Nicholas II of Russia. These eggs are worth millions of dollars; they are composed of luxury materials such as gold, silver, diamonds and other gemstones.
Every year from the year 1885, the royal family would be presented with a new egg or two. This happened up until the year 1917, when the last of the Faberge Eggs were made.
In 1917, with the outbreak of the Russian Revolution, the royal family steps down, and a year later, they were executed. A total of 50 Imperial Eggs were created before the war. Today, only 42 of the 50 eggs have been found, a handful of them are in private collections and the rest of the eggs can be viewed from museums around the world.
