My Quirky Cat!

102 måneder siden

I love cats, and I talk about cats a lot on Stardoll and in my real life! I also live with a lovely cat named Cassy, who is an elderly cat at fifteen years old- but still full of life. I wanted to tell a little story about my cat today, because she has developed an interesting new habit!

When my family first adopted my cat as a kitten, she was very nervous and antisocial because she was a stray from birth to an age that was reasonably old for a kitten. This meant she was not as well socialised to humans as many other cats! Over the past few years, however, she has come out of her shell and has turned into a very affectionate cat.

Cassy loves hugs, sitting on laps, and being picked up. She regularly stands up on her back legs and puts her paws up to make sure you know she wants to be carried! Recently, however, she has developed a habit that shows her emotional side even more.

In the middle of the night, I will hear meows outside my door. Cassy likes to pretend she can speak English, so it sounds like she's saying "Hello?"! It wakes me up, but I don't mind- I know she is feeling lonely, so I let her into my room and we snuggle up in bed for a bit. Once she's had her fill of cuddles, she'll trot off back to whatever she was doing around the house before!

While this habit might sound a bit annoying, I actually really appreciate her for doing it. It shows how much she loves me and how much we mean to each other! This habit really showed me that nonhuman animals have important emotional needs too- and sometimes it's worth it to help someone else out when they're lonely or upset.

Have you ever met an animal with a quirky habit?
