Exams? Don't Stress Yourself!

103 måneder siden

Hi all, Alice here!

The topic I am writing about at the moment is very relevant to me as well as a lot of you. Like the majority of other teenagers on this site, I have exams that I will sit in May and I am petrified!

The key to succeeding in exams is not to stress out because it means you will lose focus from the knowledge you have been revising and won't do as well as you would if you were calmer.

As I get stressed about the littlest of things I completely understand those of you who are thinking "how can I not get stressed?" but I hope these tips help you as I have found them useful in the past (especially during exam season last year):

Don't overload with revision.

The more revision you do, the more stressed you'll get. Obviously, it is vital to do revision but just make sure you don't spendd too long revising as the exam will be all you are thinking about which will, in turn, make you more stressed.

Get lots of sleep the night before your exam.

Sleep is important and even more so when you have an exam because it is not a good idea to be sleepy during an exam as your brain will be switched off, making points harder to remember.

Add room for free time.

Revision can be painful! I strongly suggest making plans with your friends on the weekend to distract you when the stress gets too much.

Stay safe!

- Alice
