Most members who join the site are pretty much clueless of what's it all about. So they create an account with random username, go dress some dolls, buy stuff, etc. But many get drawn to the game, and decide to stay and commit to it.

As they grow up and continue playing the game, they suddenly realize how silly or bad their username is. I know many people do regret it, but have to live with it. Not everybody has those regrets - some were smart and mature enough to choose a good one, in their opinion.

When I first created my account, I was inspired by some vampire themed stories I read online. I wanted it just to be VampireLady, but it was obviously taken, so I had to add a completely random number. And I'd get messages such as 'Have you read Twilight?', 'Are you really a vampire?' and stuff like that. Now I regret my name, but on the other hand, it has become my online identity. 

Stardoll hasn't introduced an option for us to change our usernames. And even I know there are people who would pay a lot to get their usernames changed, I am pretty sure Stardoll will never allow that. The only way you could possibly get your username changed is if it gets reported as inappropriate. 

The thing is, if they allowed us to change it, Stardoll would become a huge mess. We wouldn't know who is who anymore.
