Pear and Quinoa Porridge
Hello Again.
Niomi Smart is a British You-tuber and author. Her book, Eat Smart has tons of lovely recipes including my favorite one: Pear and Quinoa Porridge. Continue reading for the recipe.
Start off by getting 100g of quinoa and washing it. Then fry the quinoa. This isn't necessary but I would recommend doing it, just to get rid of any moisture or anything else that is on it.
After frying for a little while, you then add 375ml of almond milk. While you are at this stage of time, add a little bit of water to the mixture (around 150ml).
Now you have to boil your mixture and turn it down to a medium to low heat. Leave it to simmer for around 15 minutes.
You will need two pears. Cut a quarter of one pear to use for the topping later and cut the rest into small pieces and add to the mixture.
Now add the remaining ingredients; the juice of half a lemon, a tea spoon of vanilla extract and a tea spoon of ground cinnamon. Now stir it together until it forms a porridge like mixture. Add any toppings you wish and serve!
