Ever wonder what a designer does all day? Given that it’s summer—and we’re obsessed with Tori Praver‘s high waist swimsuits and sexy string bikinis—we asked the model turned swim designer to lay it all out for us, hour by hour.
8AM
I wake up and have my morning coffee and check my millions of emails. Then I head off to my morning workout. Depending on how I feel, it’s usually either yoga or a brisk run from my home in the East Village over the Williamsburg Bridge and back. It’s beautiful out this morning, so I go for the run.
10:30AM
I’m out the door and rushing to my new showroom in the Meatpacking district. I have a meeting with my sales rep Chelsea and then a fitting with our model to fit samples for the new resort 2012 collection, which we have been very busy creating new prints and styles for. We just moved showrooms so we are currently getting everything set up in the new space. Between that and getting my next collection ready, my plate is full.
12PM
Switching gears for a minute, I have a meeting at my modeling agency on Park Avenue, with my agent Luis Mattos. We go over my schedule for the next few months and also update my portfolio.

2PM
I head to Soho for my next meeting, which is at Wetherly Fashion Group, my PR firm for Tori Praver Swimwear. In the meeting we discuss our plan for the season and events we’ll be having throughout the summer. The first event we discuss is the cocktail party I’m hosting in July during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Miami.

4PM
Back at home in my office, I spend some time sketching and gathering inspiration for my new resort collection. I also have a phone conversation with TheraSURF, a non-profit organization that supports children with physical disabilities through surfing. My swim line is collaborating with TheraSURF for a fundraising event later this summer, so we talk about details surrounding the event and my participation.
7PM
I have dinner with some friends at one of my favorite spots in the East Village, Café Mogador. After a long, full day, it’s fun to unwind and catch up with friends.
10PM
Back at home, I answer a few emails and create a list of what to do for tomorrow. I also use this time to talk with my friends and family back home in Hawaii since its only the afternoon for them.
11PM
I’m exhausted and ready for bed, so it’s lights out. I get ready to do it all again tomorrow!
