You know how teachers say 'If you're honest, you'll never get in trouble!' Well, that's not completely true, as you might've done something wrong. But, they will be happier with you and give you a less worse punishment than if you would've lied.

Honesty is a very important characteristic to have. First off, people know they can trust you and they'll be more genuine. Who doesn't want that? It's like The Boy Who Cried Wolf, he kept lying and when he was actually telling the truth, nobody believed him. So, if you have a bad habit of lying too much, try to stop. Lying is never a good habit.

However, sometimes there are some situations where you feel you have to lie. Like if you want to protect someone, or you have to keep a secret. I don't really know if it's all 100% good in these situations, but I think if you told the truth in those situations the consequences would be worse.

But, honesty almost always comes in handy, so try to be honest.
