Royal Recap: A very busy week!
Hello my lovely flowers, today I bring another royal recap from last week.
I know, I haven't posted one in so long and I apologize!
I hope you guys don't mind my latest posts being more focused on royalty these days. It's just that I have been focusing more on that (it makes me so happy, honestly) and sometimes I feel more inclined to write about one theme than the others. Don't worry, I still love plants and I will be writing an update post on the plants I own soon.
Anyways, let's get down to business, literally!
This week was very busy for the European royal families. Oh and just a tiny note: If I skip/miss certain royals or royal families it's just the ones I'm not particularly interested enough to write about, so please don't feel like I'm dismissing them or anything, I just prefer to focus on my favorite ones. And speaking of favorites, my favorite Royal Family was very busy indeed:
UK: According to Kensington Palace's instagram (@KensingtonRoyal) The week started with the Duke of Cambridge - who is a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union - who attended the Wales x France 6 nations match at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. It is also stated that His Royal Highness met injured players who are being supported by the Welsh Rugby Union Chritable Trust.
The Duchess of Cambridge finished her #Big5Questions survey which is said to help families get together in the early years of a child's life. This is a major project for the Duchess who has very early in her royal life, dedicated herself to mental health, especially childrens'.
This Thrusday, the Duke of Cambridge honoured David Groves, a member of the Royal Navy, with the Queen's Gallantry Medal for saving 27 sailors.
Then at night, Duke and Duchess attended a special performance of Dear Evan Hansen, which focuses on discussing and promoting mental health.
On Wednesday, the Duchess being a patron and sports lover herself, visited Sportsaid, an institution that focuses on children's sports and works with their parents to encourage family support on their childrens' sporting sucess.
While the Duchess was at it, the Duke visited The Beacon, a center for homeless and vulnerable people to have acess to food, clothes and bathroom. It also serves as a place for them to chat and engage ewith other people.
The Danish royals came into the spotlight this week, as Princess Marie visited Uganda in her condition of patron of the DanChurchaid, highlighting climate change and sunstainability. The Foundation ensures that the natural resources are protected and recicled in favour of the refugees in the country. Take a look at their official Instagram for more details of her work while visiting Uganda: @Detdanskekongehus.
Then Princess Mary, currently residing in Switzerland to support her children in school shared some photos of her and their dog Grace in the snowy Swiss Alps.
Funny enough, the Dutch Royal family too shared photos in the snow, but they are in Austria, though. How funny would it be if they were in the same place and got ot hang out? Royal snow party you guys!
Now moving to my neighbor country, Spain:
Last Thursday, Letizia, the Queen and her husband Felipe, the hot daddy, King of Spain (am I even allowed to call him that here? Oops!) opened the 2020 ARCOmadrid, a contemporary art fair.
Today, the ever-so-fabulous Queen Letizia went to Galicia to preside the Princess of Girona Foundation, which focuses on promoting young people in their professional areas with scolarships, awards and projects.
My best friend SweetZinger and I absolutely LOVE Queen Letizia's outfits, we drool over them and her constantly because honestly, she's literally so beautiful and stylish. She's the true definition of Fashion Queen! She never disappoints and we loved both her appearences this week.
The charming Princesses Leonor and Sofia are following their dear parents' footsteps when it was announced that they are contributing to zero waste in school, taking their lunches and snacks in reusable containers and using their voices to promote sustainability and highlight awareness for climate change.
And last but not least, the Swedish Royal Family have released a new photo of Princess Estele, the future Queen of Sweden, on the occasion of her 8th birthday.
It amazes me the fact that I've been following royals for a decade and I can say I've been watching and caring (at distance) for the children of my favorite royals literally since the day they were born. I might not have been in London in person when Kate came out of the hospital with her babies in her arms the 3 times, but I did watch it live on tv. You bet I stood there looking at a pair of closed doors for hours, but it was totally worth it, to take a glimpse of the new babies. My favorite so far is Princess Charlotte. I remember crying when it was announced the baby was a girl and when they came out of the hospital doors. I've always wanted my idol (Kate) to have a princess follwing her footsteps. A mini Kate!
