The Final Look From HONOR's Pre-Fall Collection
Manhattan’s mussed-up society girls have come to love t-shirts that moonlight as eveningwear—especially swans who socialize on both sides of the city’s 59th Street (14th Street?) equator. Keeping these discerning party-hoppers in mind
Giovanna Randall delivered a few in her pre-fall collection for fledging label, HONOR. It may look like just another smart crewneck at first, but a closer look at this ensemble tells a more elaborate story and it’s the shorn and shirred fabric along the skirt that lends the ensemble its charm. ”It’s a very special textile from
Switzerland where they sewed black chiffon onto tulle. The tulle is an ombrè so it’s incredibly different. I found it at one of my favorite mills; it’s a place where I really gather inspiration,” Randall explained. Befittingly,  this “red carpet show piece,” look is not without HONOR’s signature arts & crafts influence. The t-shirt that keeps this outfit’s fussiness in check was embellished by the HONOR ladies themselves. ”I hand
painted it with my design assistant,” Randall enthused. ”The collection’s inspiration was a paint box—a woman getting into her paint and putting it everywhere…” Mission accomplished.
