Runway Ready - NYFW
To celebrate New York Fashion Week Spring 2020, I have decided to style some outfits featuring pieces from select designers that show at NYFW!
Starting with my first outfit, I chose this Tom Ford blazer dress. With the bright animal prints and ’80s inspired blazers and partywear, this was one of my favorite collections from Fall 2018. I styled the blazer with a classic unbuttoned shirt, and pinstripe miniskirt, the metallic stripes matching the rhinestone buckle detail on the blazer. These rhinestone Alexander Wang shades are a perfect match with the blazer too. To accessorize, I added the black headband, pointed heels with rhinestone ankle straps and a metallic mini bag. For my second outfit, I chose this major off-the-shoulder by Priscavera. I decided to dress it down with a sportier vibe, with the mesh long sleeve, sports bra, Alexander Wang sweatpants, and black boots. To accessorize, I chose a black leather cap, a classic Marc Jacobs ‘snapshot’ crossbody bag with branded strap, and gold jewelry to compliment the gold on the bag.
Moving on to my next outfit, this off-the-shoulder denim shirt by Matthew Adams Dolan is such a statement piece, with the XL sleeves and utility-style pockets. Naturally, I went for a head-to-toe double denim look, with the pair of matching slouchy jeans. A pair of thigh-high boots would totally work instead of the jeans. I then went with silver accessories; the lightning earrings, heels, and layered chain necklaces. An exciting brand showing at NYFW for me is Area! I layered their crystal mesh dress with a pair of cropped pants, and a mesh bodysuit with scribble-style rhinestones, working perfectly with the mesh dress. Keeping the rest of the outfit simple, I went with a pair of rhinestone heels and cute clear box handbag.
For my next two outfits, I wanted to style some pieces from Monse. I first found out about the brand through Antidote! I love a good slip dress and makes such an interesting piece when combined with the newspaper print. I generally love layering slips with t-shirts, so instead of a plain color, I chose a black graphic tee. I added the slouchy white jacket to add to the casual look. While a pair of chunky white sneakers would totally work with this outfit, I went for some strappy heels with silver and clear detail. To match, I chose a clear Helmut Lang clutch bag, and then odd earrings in mixed metal. I then chose this deconstructed off-the-shoulder blazer, which I layered with a white pinstripe shirt and cycle shorts. I added the canvas belt for a subtle contrasting color to an otherwise monochrome outfit, and then chose leather accessories; the beret, mini handbag, and tabi boots.
For my next outfit, I chose these Alexander Wang leggings. I paired them with a matching crop top, and for contrast, I added a dark grey boxy blazer. For accessories, I chose some kitten heels with a graffiti print, a dark grey mini bag, sporty sunglasses, and silver hoops. Each season, Marc Jacobs closes NYFW, so of course my final outfit I wanted to this oversized statement blazer. I stuck to a minimal outfit with the black cropped pants, turtleneck, and beret, and accessorized with these mules that have a polka dot and gold detail, some mismatched earrings and layered gold necklaces.
