Un invierno temprano en la cuidad Winter Mill

WINTER MILL - Cayeron ocho centimetros de nieve el sábado en Winter Mill. El invierno más frio de la historia continúa.
Los scientíficos del Centro nacional metrológico de Maryland confirman que jamás había llegado nieve tan temprano. La fecha más temprana que se había registrado fue el 3 de octubre del 1953. "Es extraordinario" dice el metrólogo Rick Knowles. "No es normal tener nieve en septiembre", y continúa diciendo que él espera que siga nevando durante bastante tiempo. "Es algo muy raro lo que esta pasando, es una frente que parece muy estable y sobre un área muy específica y no parece moverse de allí", continuá explicando Knowles. El departamento policial de Winter Mill aconseja al público tomar precaución en las calles y asegurarse de tener provisiones en casa. "Si esto contiúa podemos quedar aislados" dice el teniente Mitchell Wilson. "Los arados de nieve no serán suficiente para llegar a las vías más lejanas y es mejor tener reservas". Pero por el momento hay condiciones ideales para hacer deportes de nieve y la gente se ha ido a las montañas cerca del pueblo. Los estudiantes del colegio de Winter Mill han organizado una carrera de trineos el domingo - los hermanos Bradley y Ruth Farmer fueron los ganadores.
