Control your thoughts.
Hey Dolls,
I've been wanting to do this post for the longest time but I don't think I could find the right way to put this in words. We are always controling the way we think and speak about other people, trying not to be judgy and always trying to make everyone feel good about theirself. But, when it comes to our own self, we are reckless. We hate on ourselves so much, whether it's for our physical appearance or our personality traits. At least I know I do.
On a daily basis, I would pick on little things that I didn't like about myself. One day it was my height, the next one my voice and so on. I never realized how much that was affecting me.
Negative self-talk has an immediate impact on our confidence. If we keep on telling ourselves that we're ugly, our lips aren't as big as they should be, our arms are too fat and our belly isn't flat, we are going to be put in situations where these "flaws" are more visible. We are going to start noticing more things we don't like about ourselves. But on the other hand, if we find things we love about ourselves and our bodies, we are going to start being more confident, we are going to be finding more and more things we love and we are going to break a negative cycle that has been repeating for possibly our entire lives.
But I know for sure that it isn't easy. It takes courage to change the way you look at yourself, but I know YOU can do it. WE can do it together.
Now, every time you look in the mirror, I want you to smile as big as you can, look deep into your eyes and find something new that you appreciate about yourself.
till next time, lia.
