Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 have run the aesthetic gamut from ripped short shorts to lumberjack jackets, from black tie tuxes to elegant dresses suited for ladies who lunch and last night, in London, the two launched their first capsule collection of seven suits. Their new emphasis, obviously, is on sharp tailoring. Said Dan, “We chose seven cities that we have really loved over the years. Obviously Toronto because that’s where we are from, then also New York, Milan, Paris, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and London. We designed each one based on our take of the city, so some have a tighter silhouette, others boxier—and we had loads of fun doing it.”

A crowd of well-wishers turned out at Tramps to give the boys a huge welcome. Ron Wood and his polo playing model girlfriend Ana Araujo swung by as did Hari spokesmodel Tolula Adeyemi and fashion’s new favorite Chloe Moretz (star of Kick Ass), Erin O’Connor, Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith of the Noisettes and Paul Weller’s musician son, Nat Weller—who won best dressed thanks to his Dsquared2 suit with crystal laden lapels. Given the rash of new shops that have sprung up in London, will Dsquared2 ever join in the fray? “Well, it’s a bit hush hush but we are looking around for a location at the moment. We have seen plenty but it is really important to get the location and vibe right. Don’t worry, we will get here!”
