It’s return of the—oh wait, no way, you’re kidding. She didn’t just say what I think she did, did she? Yes, Doc Martens have made their comeback. You know what they say… if you’re not careful history will repeat itself. In this case, bring it on! What better way to watch history creep up on us than through a pair of pastel pink Doc Martens. Emerging in the 1960s as a counter-culture icon, the combat boot with a sole literally made of air, has situated itself (well-deserved, might I add) into the timeless category. Created before the internet, before iPods or MTV and before cell phones, they have withstood the test of time. You can now find Docs all over the fashion blog world and can catch celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Dakota Fanning, Avril Lavigne and Blake Lively rocking these kicks. The Doc Marten combat boot has adapted from its original hard-wearing, factory workin’ design into this fresh, fantastic form of expression. The boot now comes in an array of metallics, floral prints and patent leathers. Plus they’re totally comfortable! And don’t be afraid to pair your Doc Martens with a sundress or tights, they will compliment any, and by any I mean every outfit.  Keep it casual by adding your Docs to your favorite pair of skinny jeans and crop top, throw on your favorite vintage tee, denim shorts, and call it a day. Pair them with a sequin dress and you’re good to go for the night! The classic Doc Marten boot was meant to break fashion rules, so why not stick to its original mantra; what you pair them with is entirely up to you. Let out the wild child… or soul sister or punk princess in you!
