Learn From My Experiences: Friendships

Hey everyone!

A personality trait everyone has always pointed out about me is how stubborn I am. I can never learn from other people's mistakes, only from my own. Because of it, I found myself in some pretty unpleasant situations. Therefore, I'm starting this series. Every post will be a story about something that's happened to me, which you can hopefully learn something from.

Episode 1: Friendships

There are 7.6 billion people on our planet. According to the internet, out of those 7.6 billion people, we will meet 80 thousand people in our lifetime. That's a lot.
However, only a few of those people will prove themselves as a true friend, someone who will stand by us through the good and the bad.

Somehow, I always attracted the worst of the worst, people that would pressure me into doing something I didn't like, people that would drag me into their personal drama.

I asked many for advice. Most of them told me to "just cut them off" or "just let it go." I was told it isn't hard. But no matter how bad our friends are, distancing ourselves from them can sometimes be extremely hard. Personally, I had a very hard time doing it. After lots of pain and tears, I finally cut ties with many lifelong friends. After it was all over, I realized I missed the memories, not the people.

Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? Was this post helpful?
Let me know!

Until then,
Sara xx
