Writing tips
Hi dollies!
Today's post is about sharing some life-saving writing tips to help you improve with writing.
This last week I was on a residential where I got lots of advice from real writers in the field.
Tip 1:
"First draft is never the best"
It's true; the first draft is just the starting point, you put all your ideas on the page and change it up! You then realise that some things aren't good or some things you want to keep.
Tip 2:
"Never compare yourself to the writing in a book"
Like with the above tip, an authour has probably gone through over 10 drafts before being happy with their results. Your first, second or third draft will still be good, but not as good as 10 drafts.
Tip 3:
"Editing is the most important part of writing"
You can achieve this in three simple steps: Delete any unnecessary information, Replace anything to make it more specific, Add any details.
Tip 4:
"Always use the senses"
What can you see, hear, feel, smell or taste?
Tip 5:
"Never give up!"
Although you might not know it, your work may just be admired by many people!
I hope you enjoyed my quick 5 writing tips!
