Those black screens...

Hi dollies!

Put your hand up if you check your phone at least twice a day… *everyone raises hands*.

I admit it, I am constantly checking my phone, whether it is a quick check for the time, or spending hours scrolling through social media, we all are attached to our little devices.

As a teenager, we are prone to looking at our phones on an average of 9 hours a day! I spend 9 hours sleeping, so that’s 18 hours spent up either sleeping or on a phone. I wouldn’t say I go on my phone for 9 hours, probably a lot less. However this proves that so many people are relying on their devices so much now.

Positives:

-       Staying in contact with friends who you haven’t seen in a long time

-       Learning new things and finding information

-       Belonging to a community

-       Escapism

-       Finding a new talent

Negatives:

-       More exposed to trolls and cyber bullies

-       More sleep deprived

-       Can cause addiction

-       More exposed to inappropriate content e.g. violence and offensive language

-       More exposed if allowing personal information to people.

These aren’t necessarily true and everybody uses their phones differently, I do and most of my family and friends use it differently too.

Be careful when using your phone and stay happy!
