Keeping Calm - While Texting
Okay, I'm known for not exactly keeping my temper in, and I will burst if I'm angry. But when you're texting, people can't see what tone you're using so something which is light can seem so much more worse while texting. I've been caught in quite a few texting arguments this month, and it's not fun. So, here are a few tips on how to keep your calm while texting:
* Think - so this is much more easy over texting as you can actually think it through and reply in your own time. Just make sure to do that. Think about what you're sending as once it's out there, it will be there forever. Try not to do anything you could regret later.
* Don't drag it out - I've been known to drag out texting arguments just because, I have the time there to drag it out. But just make your point quickly, texting is to be quick, not for long arguments. And remember the above point too.
* Put it down - if it's getting really pointless and hurtful, just put the phone down. Perhaps both of you just need some space, and texting won't get you any more calmer. Take a deep breath.
* Avoid anything personal - you can't put tone through to texts, which mean they can be taken the wrong way. Avoid sarcasm or anything you can't show the tone of, or else you might go through another argument.
Hope these tips help :)
