Quote of the Week #2

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment"~ Buddha

This is a quote followed and looked up to by many. I am not a Buddhist myself, but I still admire that quote and I say it to my friends whenever they feel sullen.

People tend to focus on either the future, or the past. In my opinion, those are essential but yet bad. Whenever something bad happens, some people tend to become overwhelmed and begin to feel deppressed and gloomy about it. Instead, they should learn from it, and use it as a future reference.

But then there are people who constantly worry about the future. Who ponder and ponder about it, and become blinded by what they have to do. They focus so much on what they want to become that they forget to live their life and to enjoy the little moments in life that are memorable. Instead, they should live in the moment, and sure your future is important; but don't you want to grow old and tell your children, grandchildren, etc what an amazing life you had? How much you enjoyed those little moments?

Both the future and past are relevant, but how much really? Why dont you sit back on those, and enjoy your life while it's still worth living. Make for example, a list of things you want to do before you die. One by one start making them come true. This is a great way to build up memories especially if you bring your friends along.

Lots of Love,
