The couture shows in Paris came to an end last week, but there’s a trend that we just can’t shake off. Make that two trends: fingerless gloves and finger half-gloves. Chanel kept to its signature look this season with tweed skirt and cropped jacket suits but added a surprisingly chic pair of fingerless gloves to almost every look.
Leather,
lace,
mesh, and even
feathers were used to make these palm warmers. Often associated with punk kids and goth rockers, these fingerless gloves added a sweet and unexpected touch of class to Chanel’s
runway looks. The best part? You get to use your iPod without having to remove your gloves! Here’s how to get the look:

Stéphane Rolland fall 2011 haute couture, IMAXTREE
Stéphane Rolland’s
couture looks were as bold as usual—as was the dark makeup! From billowy gowns to body-hugging dresses, there was a refined woman behind each look. But add black patent leather finger half-gloves (like the ones Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC!) to these ladies and she becomes a bit of a femme fatale. The finger gloves remind me more of Wolverine than Beyonce’s metal cast glove in ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)’ music video. This edgy look is could kill, so adopt with caution! Because the half-glove is so unusual, it’s hard to find it sold anywhere. Do not fall into scams by ordering through a manufacturing site. Your best bet is to buy regular gloves (synthetic leather is ideal, but never use knit) and cut off half of the glove. Re-hem the lining with a thread and needle. Patricia Field is the only trusted site to purchase these SATC-inspired gloves:
