Hello, dolls!
As you can most probably tell from the large, dark pout I use for my own doll, I have a penchant for bold lipsticks. Once you leave the realm of pink and red lipsticks, there is a large world out there in which lipsticks of all colours are celebrated and accepted in society. Black lipstick, once strictly left to 'gothic' looks, has now become almost mainstream and can be worn in many different ways.
Eyes: For the eyes, I created a look that was both soft and subtle, whilst being complimentary to the black lipsticks. The key is to not go too heavy on black mascara or eyeliner - choose one and then use soft colours. The Dot Indian Rose line is one of my favourites for its versatility, and I used it heavily for my eyes. Blend a darker shade into your outer corner and then take a lighter shade to colour your eyelid and crease. Finish with a swipe of mascara and some white eyeliner to open up the eyes.
Lips: The black lips are the key. I far preferred the glossy finish for this look in particular, but matte is also a great choice. Apply multiple coats for that dramatic, midnight-black colour.
Face: A soft contour-blush combo completes the look. The face remains soft, so the lips can become the focal point of the look.
Black lipstick is a bold statement and one that I love trying out. What is your opinion on black lipstick?
