Trend Alert: Strobing
If you enjoy experimenting with and wearing makeup, you'll probably be aware of the latest beauty trend sweeping the industry; strobing. Recently popularized by celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, strobing is now known as 'the new contouring' - but instead of focusing on the shadows of your face, it focuses on the high points (such as the cheekbones, forehead and nose bridge) in order to define and shape your face, while giving your skin a fresh, dewy glow.
Intrigued? Read on for examples of three different products available to help you strobe, and how to use them:
Powder highlighter
Powder highlighters create a soft, natural glow - which makes them perfect for everyday wear. Gently brush some onto your desired places with your favourite fluffy brush.
Liquid highlighter
Apply a few dots of liquid highlighter/illuminator to the areas you want to highlight under or over your usual foundation/BB cream. Blend in gently with your fingers - if you have oily skin or will be going out in the warmth for a long time, you could apply a powder highlighter on top to set your look.
Cream highlighter
Apply some cream highlighter to your face and either blend with your fingers or a makeup sponge for a more diffused glow that will stay soft and creamy all day.
Do you prefer contouring or strobing - or do you like a mixture of both?
