The History Dolls!
Have you met any of the history dolls yet? These special accounts represent important women throughout history. Here are a few of my fave historical figures, and some other history dolls you might like to check out in your own time!
Ada LoveLace (ladylovelace)
Ada Lovelace was a math genius who lived during the early 1800s. Believe it or not, she has been credited with writing the very first computer programme - in the 1840s! That was a huge achievement, as physical computers had not even been invented at that point. Check out ladylovelace for more facts and info!
Frida Kahlo (Frida.Kahlo)
A celebrated artist from Mexico, Frida Kahlo is a name we all know! We've all seen her brightly colored art, but did you know that she painted to help herself through painful sickness? Check out Frida.Kahlo to learn more about her amazing life!
Rosa Parks (rosaparks)
Rosa Parks was a black woman who started a civil rights movement by refusing to move when she was ordered to give up her seat to a white person on a bus. Her actions began a bus boycott that fought against the unfair racial segregation laws of the time - many black men and women stood up for equality, and they changed the world without resorting to violence. Visit rosaparks to learn about her civil rights activism!Others:
