Spending time outside in the summer months may be pleasurable, but it’s  also exhausting.  Sometimes we just want a fully functioning air  conditioner, which is why summer movies are popular.  There are just so  many, how can we ever decide what to drop the disposable cash on?  We  put together a list of flicks and who to see them with so you can get  your buttered popcorn (and cute superhero) fill.

By yourself: Mr. Popper’s Penguins, June 17 
We all remember our parents reading this book.  Mr. Popper was always  into some kind of mischief that made us laugh out loud.  Watch this  comedy to relive your childhood and see the hilarious Jim Carrey in his  newest role, without feeling like your friends are judging you for  seeing a PG movie.

On a date: Green Lantern, June 17 
Hottie Ryan Reynolds?  Check.  Action?  Check.  
Green Lantern follows  Hal Jordan (Reynolds) as he fights to keep the balance of the universe  in check after a new enemy threatens to destroy it.  And while your  crush will be enthralled with the action, you can ogle Reynolds all you  want.

Babysitting: Cars 2, June 24 
It seems like Disney/Pixar just keeps getting things right.  Cars 2 is  the sequel to the original comical movie featuring the voices of Owen  Wilson as Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy as tow truck Mater.   McQueen is racing at the World Grand Prix meanwhile Mater gets  sidetracked on a secret spy mission.  Full of laughs, there will be  jokes for you to enjoy and fun for young kids.

With the family: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, July 15 
Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their search around the wizarding  world to find the last of Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes in the grand finale  of the Harry Potter movie series.  We cried when we read the seventh  book and we’re sure to do it again in the final installment.  Bring your  family, as it’s been a train of sequels the entire clan loves.
