Someone asked me about some tips on how to learn vocabulary words effectively. Here are some:

Start early. Don't wait until the night before the test to start studying the words. Start studying as soon as you are given the vocabulary list and then you can review a little each day.

Make note cards for your vocabulary words. On one side, write the word, on the other, write the definition.

Learning in small parts is much easier and you will retain much more if you study over a period of time.

For example: You have two weeks time. You must learn about 40 vocabulary words. You should divide them in small groups and learn one group per day. This would be about 3 words/day. Within the last days, you repeat them all. 

Download a vocabulary learning program on the computer! I did and I got the best grades in the last weeks just because using it! 

And don't forget: Practice, practice, practice! Practice is the key to learning!
